• Create & Update JIRA API Token for Zendesk JIRA Integration...

    JIRA has changed the Authentication process recently, Users has to compulsory use JIRA API Token instead of Password for Authenticating of JIRA App.

    This has to be done in 2 Steps 

    Please follow the below steps to Create JIRA API Token.

    Step A). Create a JIRA API Token

    Create an API token from your Atlassian account:

    Step 01. Log in to https://id.atlassian.com/manage/api-tokens

    Step 02. Click Create API token.

    Step 03. From the dialog that appears, enter a memorable and concise Label for your token and click Create.



    Click Copy to clipboard, then paste the token to your script, or elsewhere to save:


    Step B). Updating JIRA API Token on Zendesk JIRA Integration App.


    Updating JIRA API Token

    Step 01. Login into Zendesk Account & open a random ticket.

    Step 02. Open IntegrateCloud Zendesk JIRA Integration App.

    Step 03. Click on settings Icon & select JIRA Credentials.



    Step 04. In Jira Authentication page please fill below parameters.

    a) JIRA User Email Id - - - -> User has to enter his logged in User Email Id (Note: Use Same Email Id from which user generated the API Token)

    b) JIRA API Token - - - -> User has to enter his Newly Created JIRA API Token.


     Click on JIRA Authentication Button.


                 





  • How to create JIRA API token

    Sometimes customers might get error while entering JIRA username and password.The other alternative way is to generate a JIRA api token and use it in the JIRA authentication page of the JIRA app:

     Below are the steps to generate an API token

    Once you create the token below put the email (ABC@yourcompany.com) of your JIRA account and the token in the password textbox.

    Create an API token from your Atlassian account:

    1. Log in to https://id.atlassian.com/manage/api-tokens.
    2. Click API tokens, then Create API token.
    3. Use Copy to clipboard, and paste the token to your script, or elsewhere:

    Important Note.

     

    If User wants to send new attachments in Create Issue or if an user wants to send a new attachments which is not listed in Create Issue/ Notify Issue screen, Please add the attachments in public or internal notes

     

    Step 1. Login into your Zendesk Account.


    Step 2. Open a random ticket.


    Step 3.You will see the app on left side bar. Click on Create Issue.

    Step 4. Select Project Name, Issue Type from Drop Down Box & Click Next.

    Step 5. Add in the necessary details & then select the Attachment`s from Zendesk Attachments.


    Step 6. Click on Create Issue button. Issue will be created & will be displayed below the Create issue button.


    Step 7. Click on the Ticket number highlighted & it will redirect to the JIRA Ticket Page.


    Step 8. Verify the image in the comments section in a Hyper Link form.

    Step A. Login to your Zendesk Account.


    Step B. Redirect to Views & open a Random Ticket.



    Step C. Click on Setting Icon to see the option of Updating or Changing JIRA or Zendesk Credentials.

    Step C (I). To Change or Update Zendesk Credentials User has to click on Zendesk Credentials.


    Step C (II). To Change or Update JIRA Credentials User has to click on Zendesk Credentials.

  • Enable API in Zendesk

    To generate an API token

    1. Click the Admin icon () in the sidebar, then select Channels > API.
    2. Click the Settings tab, and make sure Password Access & Token Access is enabled. (See screenshot)
    3. Click the button to the right of Active API Tokens.



    4.Enter a name for the token, and click Create. The token is generated, and displayed for you in a pop-up window: 
    5. Copy the token , and paste it somewhere secure. Once you click save token, the full token will never be displayed again.

    If you are using the VSTS App for integratecloud please use put the email in this format youremail@yourcompanyemail/token

    In the password Box please use the token you generated in Step 4 and it should take you to the next screen where you can enter VSTS credentials.If you are using another app other than VSTS then follow below steps.


    NOTE:IF YOU ARE ENTERING THE ZENDESK PASSWORD IN THE PASSWORD TEXT BOX INSTEAD OF THE TOKEN THEN DO NOT CHECK THE BOX "USE TOKEN".ITS VERY IMPORTANT SINCE THE AUTHENTICATION WILL NOT WORK.


    6. Paste the token in the zendesk credentials page in the IntegrateCloud App.  


    7. Also make sure to click on Token Checkbox in the zendesk credentials page

    Please follow below instructions for enable Api Access by using Username and Password 

    1. Login to Zendesk using admin credentials

    2. Select API under Channels tab

    3. Under settings table please check Password Access enable or not. If not enable please enable it (see screenshot)
